If the WPT Buenos Aires Master delights spectators and television viewers with great matches and points that he proposes, his organization is nonetheless criticized.

Lisandro Borges, a divisive character

As in previous years, this WPT Buenos Aires Master, supposed to be a real party for the public who see their favorites evolve in Europe most of the year, is organized by Lisandro Borges. The Argentinian businessman, who also bought the events that will take place next year in Paraguay and Chile, among others, is clearly not unanimous.

After trying to create his own circuit, the Players Padel Tour, this former friend of Bela has put on some of the actors of the padel back, including the player who dominated the padel worldwide for 16 years. Now stowed behind the WPT, he is accused in particular of having turned his back.

Three official racquets for a single tournament!

This is the first mistake that was made during this tournament: three brands bought the fact of being the official racket of this Buenos Aires Master. These are Nox, Varlion and Royal Padel.

As explains Varlion in a press release, only one mark should have been the official pala of the tournament (as is always the case in WPT events), and confusion as to this situation remains.

In this same document, we also learn that the vagueness lies in the signing of the prodigy Leo Augsburger with Nox while his contract with Varlion was not over… Here again, Lisandro Borges would be at the heart of the imbroglio as stipulated in the brand press release.

Some media turned away at the entrance

Finally, some media, because of their history with the organizers, were turned away at the entrance. It is even rumored that the places which were to be allocated to the journalists have been sold to the public... A situation which forced them to publish a press release which you will find just below (translated):

Journalists and media disavow the actions of the organizers of Buenos Aires Padel Masters of World Padel Tour with regard to the normal course of their work.

First, they punished those who do not align themselves with the proponent's interests by denying them accreditation.

Second, those close to the promoter have warned that media who decide to attend the tournament with tickets could face reprisals…

This situation is dangerous and makes it impossible to carry out our work without coercion. Our sport requires all stakeholders to be involved.
