Padel Magazine has exclusively obtained the document which promises to change the history of the padel. Here are the most important information of the “New World Padel Tour”, presented yesterday by Alex Corretja to the players.

Le World Padel Tour understood that the athlete was his dearest “asset”. This is why the offer of the new WPT puts forward a more professional treatment to ensure that the player will not miss anything.

Thus, for each event, several elements are promised from the previas: a restaurant for the players, a warm-up area, a players' room, tracks 2 and 3 also considered as central tracks, quality locker rooms, several physiotherapists, and hotel pickup included.

In order to facilitate communication between the players and the WPT, the latter proposes to elect two players and two players who will be its representatives. The latter will be paid 4 euros per year to fulfill this role.

Le World Padel Tour presents its new technology partner Foxtenn. With its logo very similar to that of Juan Lebron, this company present on the ATP and the WTA will allow the WPT to put itself at the technological level of tennis.

With a specific cutout of the court and many HD webcams, Foxtenn will allow the WPT to eliminate any refereeing error. In addition, individual statistics will now be taken into account, including the speed of the smash, or the percentage of time spent in defense or attack.

These statistics will be available live via an ergonomic application.

The economic aspect

It's the end of parity on the World Padel Tour. The offer of the new WPT is identical for players with the exception of the economic offer.

For the BIG tournaments, the prize-money will be 600 euros for men and 000 for women. Note that if players do not join the new WPT, they will not receive the full amount provided. It varies from category to category. Example, for a Big, the winners will receive €300 each if they have joined, but only €000 if they have not. On the Open the difference is much less (€30 for an Open 000 winner who has joined, €11 if this is not the case). In this way, the WPT hopes that players will decide more quickly.

The WPT therefore promises an annual prize money of more than 10,6 million euros for men, and 5,7 million for women assuming that all players join.

In addition, a bonus of 500 euros will be granted to the 000 best players according to their place in the ranking. A bonus is also provided for young players.

In order to obtain a maximum of members quickly, the WPT proposes to increase the prize-money to these sums as soon as the player signs, in 2022.

The player-WPT relationship

Le World Padel Tour removes exclusivity, but requires players to commit to the tour. Thus, if a player participates in another tournament during an Open 150 or Big week, he will be fined 3000 euros and 10% of his current ranking points.

A penalty of 2000 euros is also provided for playing a tournament of another circuit in a city visited by the WPT during the year.

The WPT may terminate a player's contract if the player does not participate in a minimum of 15 tournaments. The contract will be signed for 5 years.
