Back to the interview of June 23, 2020 with the President of the APT Padel Tour Fabrice Pastor present for the second time in the Face-to-Face Instagram.

  • Regarding APT projects for the coming months

We are with all the Latin, Central and North American federations to try to restart. I had announced a resumption on September 21 in Mexico, but I think it will be difficult given the presence of the Covid there.

October, November, we are working to have a tournament in France, perhaps another in Spain, the two tournaments in Argentina, and another in Paraguay. It would make 7 tournaments in 2020. It all depends of course on the evolution of the situation, on whether people can travel etc. We are still thinking about organizing the tournament in France and the one in Spain, even if the players from the American continent cannot move. In any case, there will be great news for the first week of July, with the announcement of a very very important agreement for us for the year 2021.

Euro-America will take place from March 9 to 14, 2021 in Rosario, Argentina, we bought 10m500 to make a club for the Continental American Federation with residence for professional players. We will seek to do the same in Europe.

  • Regarding the tournament in France

It is 90% sure for 2020: it will depend once again on all the sanitary conditions. This will be done without the FFT. We tried by all means to have a working relationship with them, for a tennis tournament Padel Soleil (Beausoleil), which would cost them nothing. But I believe that we are in a political and non-sporting problem.

Throughout its existence Monte Carlo International Sports, has always made a point of maintaining relations with the various federations of padel which are the essential components for the development of padel and its development.
It was therefore natural for us to get closer to the French Tennis Federation to discuss the APT project. Padel Tour, and the joint organization of the French stage in 2021.
In previous exchanges and meetings, particularly within the framework of the FFT Padel Tour, we were contacted to be Main Sponsor and in no case was there any question of approval by the FIP or any involvement of the institution in the decision of the partners.

Unfortunately for political and institutional reasons an FIP homologation is essential to work with the FFT which has therefore chosen to close the door and give up the project. And this, without taking cognizance of any documentation, information and therefore bringing a minimum of interest to our project.

What is also strange is that we work with very many federations which are in the FIP. It is going very well. But with FFT this is not possible. Once again the padel does not come out of this kind of behavior.

But it does not matter, we will continue the work and we will have a very nice stage in France.

  • Concerning padel at the Olympic games

Luigi Carraro announced that in 2024 the padel would be at the Olympic Games, we must stop talking nonsense like that which gives people false hope. The padel is not in 75 countries, is not in 4 continents for men. As for women, it must be present in 35 countries, with 3 continents. On FIP tournaments there is no anti-doping control. Before a sport can be at the Olympics, it must have been recognized for 7 years. I find it unfortunate that people say anything to keep their place. There are rules that cannot be broken.

  • About FIP

It is very positive that the FIP and the WPT work together. It's a little ironic that they do this right after we launched the APT but it remains an advancement for our sport. It's fabulous that there are FIP tournaments, if the WPT can help them so much the better, it will allow the FIP to pay for the three trials they lost. The FIP is in technical bankruptcy, even with the sponsors that Mr. Carraro announces. I do not know whether to go to Qatar to elect the new president: perhaps so that there are fewer people who move and he can win hands down ...

Players can play all tournaments: WPT, FIP, APT, FFT, whatever they want.

  • Regarding the return of the Fabrice Pastor Cup

There will be 6 Fabrice Pastor Cups next year. All Fabrice Pastor Cup champions will be able to play the APT Padel Tower. New players will have an opportunity in our professional circuit.

About the APT Padel In turn, our boards do not close after 90 registrations, we want everyone to be able to register, so we will do more days if necessary.

  • Regarding the new Federation of Padel of Monaco

We recently created the board of the Federation of Padel of Monaco, of which I will be President, and Thomas Johansson will be Vice-President. We received a receipt from the government. We will work so that our country can shine in the world.

There will be tournaments in Monaco, between Beausoleil and Monaco.

  • Regarding Ivan Ljubicic

Ivan Ljubicic is someone I play with padel. He made a huge giveaway by gifting two professional greenset courts to Tennis Padel Soleil is someone who helps us enormously in tennis and padel. I have the great honor that the Monte Carlo International Sports logo is next to that of Ivan Ljubicic.
