Au padel, we often talk about the ceiling height in clubs padel. Do we have to have height? Can we play in clubs of padel which offers little height? Many of you are asking us about this topic. We will try to give you some ideas.

First of all, let's assume that the higher the height, the better. Obviously, at padel, which is a sport where you lob a lot, that's a plus. Now if we want to be quiet, it is better to play outside. At least we'll be less bothered by that.

Nevertheless, for those who have no choice or want to play indoor, you will see that having little height, it is not so catastrophic and may even require you to better lob.

Kristina Clément, one of the best French players in padel, often goes to Sweden. And she played in a club with a height of 14 meters (Verket in Stockholm)! Of course, this is not the norm. The majority of clubs will propose a height of 7 to 9 meters. And in general, it's more than enough to have fun and even compete.

The question that was asked by Laurent, a reader of Padel Magazine : can we play padel when the height does not exceed 7 meters?

The answer is yes. We can play and also compete. It will however be more precise. it requires, certainly for the players to be softer with the pala. Many clubs offer a height close to this one. And that does not stop the players from having fun. The advantage of having a low ceiling is the obligation for players to make "lobs tense". The very good players use this lob a lot to avoid the ball bounces too much and thus be countered by a smash of the bottom of the court.

Indeed, the classic mistake committed by amateur players, it is these huge lobs that fall bell in the opponent's field. This type of balls is not necessarily the best option because it offers the opportunity for your opponent to get back and possibly to stop you because of the rebound too high.

To conclude, obviously the more height you have, the more interesting it is. But having little of it is a good exercise and can ultimately prevent you from making mistakes like those famous bell lobs over and over. However, the most important thing is the club spirit, your relations with your partners, in short to play padel, and that's the main thing!
