The first international tournament of 2024 has just started in Australia, and we can already count several French victories, but also a few defeats...

Starting in qualifying, the Franco-British pair Duarte / Quarry started with two victories before losing in the first round of the main draw after a big fight against the locals Bougie and Stratton. Final score 6/7 7/5 7/6 for the Australians.

Despite this French defeat, four French people will be present in the second round of the competition, the pairs Vives / Seurin (TS1) and Morance / Cascegna having both won their first round easily against local duos.

Thanks to these victories, the French will be able to play again this Thursday: the first face Bougie and Stratton, defeaters of Duarte / Quarry, and the second face the 6th seed, Smith / Taylor.

Note that the legendary tennis player Pat Rafter, who played his first international tournament there, lost sharply with his compatriot Morland against the 3rd seed Brown / Melisi: 6/2 6/2.

Among the girls, the Franco-Australian duo Arnuti De Mula / Renda suffered the law of the Spanish-Australian pair Lopez / Peterswald: 7/5 7/5.
