In recent days stood the FIP Rise of Burriana, in the region of Valencia. It's in the Es clubpadel that the players have made an appointment to try to win the title.

In the ladies

To start this afternoon of the final, the ladies entered the arena first. We therefore had the right to a beautiful poster opposing Teresa Navarro, the former partner of Léa Godalier, and the young Marina Lobo to the Fassio sisters, Camilla and Eleanora. Very clearly the Navarro/Lobo pair was the favorite on paper and they proved it from the start of the match. Solid and aggressive, the two players manhandled their rivals from the start, quickly taking the advantage and winning 6/2.

While the second set looked like deja vu, Camilla and Eleanora, who had not decided to surrender, showed their fangs by snatching two games from their opponents, going back to 5/3 and giving themselves hope to come back. in the game. Unfortunately for the sisters, this comeback was only short-lived as Teresa and Marina kicked things up a gear and dealt them the knockout blow to win the encounter.

Final score: 6/2 - 6/3

The experience of the 38th in the world and her young partner Marina Lobo, 43rd, clearly made the difference in this final.

In the men

The public present in the stands was treated to a real recital from the four players on the track. On one side we had a well-known pair consisting of Cayetano Rocafort et Simon vasquez, the ex-partner of Johan Bergeron, and on the other a local pair, Mario Ortega / carlos marti. After more than two hours of hung match, it is the Valencians who managed to leave with the title.
From the start of the game the tone was set and it was clear that neither of the two pairs were going to let it go. On the right side we had the right to an intractable Simon Vasquez in his diagonal and who undermined Mario Ortega. The Swede and the Andalusian thus took the advantage during the very first moments of the match by creating the break (2-0). However the Spaniards had not said their last word and managed to regain the advantage after 4 consecutive games in their favor (4-2). But it was without counting on the comeback of Vasquez / Rocafort pushing their opponents to go to the tie-break. Going blow for blow it was finally Mario and Carlos who snatched the first round from their rivals.

In confidence, the Ortega – Marti pair dominated the game on the track by taking the lead in the first three games (3-0). Stung, Simon and Cayetano went into overdrive and it was going to pay off, because after picking up the score they managed to reset the counters by chaining 6 consecutive winning games.

In the third round the four protagonists continued to go blow for blow but it was the two Spaniards who managed to pull out of the game and clinch the title on their land.

Final score: 7/6 - 3/6 - 6/3

And what about our French women present in quarter?

Remember, a few days ago we were talking about you the qualification of two French pairs for the quarter-finals of this FIP Rise Burriana. Unfortunately for the four players, the adventure in Valencia ended on Saturday afternoon.

First of all these are Wendy Barsotti and Elodie Invernon who tried to get a ticket for the semi-finals but despite a good level of play, it was not enough to overcome their two opponents. Faced with Aida Martinez San Juan and Aida Gonzalez Vila, the French, who had started the match well, lost in three sets: 2/6 – 6/2 -6/2.

Finally, the second team to represent the colors of France, Charlotte Soubrié / Carla Touly, had to deal with the seeded number 3 Marta Barrero / Carlotta Casali. The step was high and without great surprise the tricolors will not have succeeded in creating the surprise. They bow 6/3 – 6/4.
