Wendy Barsotti et Catarina Castro Vilela qualified for the final of the FIP Rise Dubai after a close match against the Germans Victoria Kurz (131) and Denise Hoefer (131).

Wendy and her partner didn't go far from the exit, in Dubai... and that's an understatement to say. Both players had to save two match points during their meeting against the Germans. Moreover, the Franco-Spanish pair had difficulty in this match, losing the first set against pair number 3 of the tournament.

In the second set, Wendy and Catarina pulled themselves together to snatch a decisive third round. They even broke first and led 4/2. There was no need to sell out the Germans too quickly, who came back to score. At 6/5, the Hoefer/Kurz pair even offered themselves two match points, magnificently saved by Wendy Barsotti.

In the end, it took an equally tight tie-break to decide between these two teams. After more than 2 hours and 20 minutes of play, Wendy and Catarina managed to escape the Hoefer/Kurz trap: 5/7 6/3 7/6 (8).

Tomorrow, they will meet the seeded 1 Laura Lujan / Lucia Perez, who also had to fight in his semi-final. The meeting will be followed live on the FIP Youtube channel.

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
