At the end of the penultimate day of the FIP Rise at Rocks Lane in London, there are no more French people in the running after the quarter-finals.

Bergeron / Moreau: not far from achieving a great result

Johan Bergeron and Maxime Moreau first obtained their ticket to the quarter-finals at the expense of their compatriots, Arthur Hugounenq and Pierre Vincent. The seniors took the first set with a score of six games to three. Beneficiaries of Lucky Loser status, Hugounenq and Vincent played their luck bravely and equalized at one set all. At the end of an uncertain third set, it was the number seven seed who won in the tie-break: 6/3 – 5/7 – 7/6(3).

Bergeron and Moreau then returned to the field in the evening to play their quarter-final against the Swede Simon Vasquez and the Spaniard Alvaro Montiel Caruso, seeded number four. The French put up a good battle, but they ended up breaking in three sets: 6/3 – 3/6 – 6/4.

Barsotti / Castro: encouraging results

Wendy Barsotti started her day this morning with a victory. The Frenchwoman, accompanied by the Portuguese Catarina Castro Vilela, barely overcame the obstacle of the Spaniards from the Casero / Lasa qualifications: 1/6 – 6/4 – 6/4.

At the end of the afternoon, the resident of the Palavas club and the Portuguese challenged two other Iberians: Ana Varo Ramos and Lorena Alonso de Lera, seeded number two. The Franco-Portuguese pair lost in two sets (6/4 – 6/3) in the quarter-final.
