As P2 in Brussels approaches, two teams ready to do battle in Belgium met for a very special training match: Lebron/Navarro and Chingotto/Galan.

New departures

The four men find themselves on the same track for the first time since they faced each other in the final of the Master Final in Barcelona last year where Paquito Navarro and Fede Chingotto went for the title. The latter have also decided to go in different directions after this trophy, on good terms.

The separation was very different on the side of Juan Lebron and Ale Galan, world number ones from 2020 to 2023. As a reminder, it happened suddenly after their elimination in the second round of the Qatar Major and a controversy surrounding El Lobo. The two Spaniards therefore share the track for the first time since the beginning of March and their new associations.

From now on, let's wipe the slate clean. The two pairs now have the ambition to return to the top of the hierarchy and bring down Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello. So it's time to train for the rest of the season. Premier Padel, and what better way to gauge yourself than to face your main rivals.

A first shock

This meeting was played in a friendly atmosphere, but it was training in name only. The four players decided to put on maximum intensity, as if to underline the stakes of this first clash between two teams who will certainly meet at the end of the tournament at one time or another this year.

Lebron and Navarro take the advantage in the first set (6/3) thanks to a break occurring on a missed release from Galan. In the second round, the team “Chingalan” takes the service of their rivals to take the lead, before conceding four consecutive games. This reversal leads to the game of 5/4 where Lebron serves for the match, and we can see at this point that the players are getting in tune with the outcome in mind.
