Even if they lost this evening in the semi-finals of the French Championships of padel 2022, Lucile Pothier and Jessica Ginier achieved a small feat in Toulouse: that of taking a set from Léa Godallier and Alix Collombon.

Disappointed to have lost but satisfied with their level of play, the two players went to the microphone of Mario Cordero at the end of the meeting.

The first two to take a set from Alix and Léa in France

Jessica Ginier: “We know that we are capable of playing at this level. We train together, we get along well and we have no doubts about our qualities. We really believed in it: Alix had to go on, there was fatigue (Editor's note: Alix, who played Friday morning in Menorca had to travel during the day to play in the evening in Toulouse), Léa could also be under pressure. Everyone wants to beat him, so we entered the field to win. We had no doubt about bothering them, we would have liked to bother them even more and win. It's a bit hard, there's a lot of disappointment, but looking back, we'll take the positives.”

Lucile Pothier: "I haven't been in the padel and this is the first time that I really “kiffee” every moment on the pitch. There is a lot of frustration because we would have liked to go further. We gave everything.”

A year full of adventures

Lucile Pothier: “When we contacted each other in February Jess had just given birth, I went to the right, it's not easy. We train every week for these moments and hopefully next time it will work out in our favour.”
