This Thursday at Human Padel open, Marta Ortega and Gemma Triay were playing their first game together on the circuit following to the injury of Alejandra Salazar. In Toulouse, the Spaniards secured with a 6/3 6/2 win over Martinez and Rodriguez. At the microphone of Padel Magazine, Gemma and Marta spoke about their first feelings.

Padel Magazine : First match together, how did you feel?

Gemma Triay : “We came with only two days of training, we are still getting to know each other. The match was intense, I think we had a great second set. They're a very solid pair and I think we did very well to pick up the pace and prepare for Friday's quarter-finals”.

PM : It feels like there's already a big connection between the two of you. You had a great second set ...

Marta Ortega: “Yes, as Gemma said, we had little time to prepare together, but it was simple from the start between us, the nerves were quickly relaxed. In the first set we had some doubts because the track is very different from what we are used to. In the second set, I think we broke free from that first moment together and it was very good”

PM: How did you find the pista?

Gemma: “It's true that we can't get the ball out too much, the carpet is a bit slippery and slightly fast. Personally, I like it a lot, we have shots that can work in our favor.”

PM: What do you need to improve for your shift?

Marta : “The most important thing will be to prepare well for the meeting with a good strategy, to focus a little on our opponents and to continue to have confidence in ourselves.”

PM: What was the key to this meeting against this pair who played very well?

Gemma: “We had confidence in our shots, I think at the beginning we thought we were avoiding certain things and I think the key was to do what we know how to do best.

Martin: “And building from our strengths, building on them.”

PM: What are you going to do the rest of the day? What is the program ?

Gem : “So I don’t even know what time it is, we’re going to take a shower, do some
recovery, eating… A little later in the afternoon, we will probably watch some matches, rest a bit with a series, here is the plan for the day (laughs)”

Martin: “The everyday plan finally (laughs)”

PM: Is there another activity you like to do together?

Marta : “We would like to discover the city a little bit. We always try to be interested in what is happening in the region, the monuments, things like that. We are going to walk a bit.”

Gem : “And go to the restaurant too (laughs)”.
