During the World Padel Tour Madrid Master 2023, we witnessed a first in a competition of such importance at this level: Maria Virginia Riera and Tamara Icardo won a match point without even playing it! Indeed, they beat Alejandra Salazar and Sofia Araujo in two sets, 6/4 6/4. If this match caused so much discussion, it is because it involved one of the most curious “matchballs” of the season.
