Portugal's Miguel Oliveira and Afonso Fazendeiro pulled off a notable feat as they came from a set against Italian pair Simone Cremona and Marco Cassetta to eventually win in three sets, including a sweltering second set.

The third set turned out to be just a formality as Simone Cremona had to call the doctor for a medical break due to an ankle injury.

Already in the quarter-finals against the French pair Maigret / Tison, the Portuguese pair had managed to keep their calm and destabilize the fourth seed in the table and favorite of the meeting.

In this small final for the bronze medal, Oliveira / Fazendeiro won a precious bronze medal. What is all the more remarkable is that she was not necessarily the favorite to win this bronze medal in this competition.

Final score: 6/7 7/5 6/0.
