Simon Boissé, the captain of the French Gentlemen's team, looks back on this first day in these Seniors Plus World Cups in Alicante against Ecuador:

“Small assessment of this first day: the men's team made a successful entry, continuing the momentum of the women's team. Against Ecuador, the outcome was uncertain, but we did not lose any sets and clearly dominated in terms of level of play.

The players showed seriousness, which allowed our new members, Thomas and Olivier, to acclimatize.

Tomorrow we head to the Open and head to Uruguay to try to qualify for the quarter-finals.”

Gentle beginnings, for the gentlemen as for the ladies who performed flawlessly this morning.

The Open tournament starts tomorrow.
