The FFT took the Padel under her wing since 2014. Although she is a bit slow to put everything in place to develop this sport, it seems that the new director of the FFT is determined to develop it under her mandate. (https://padelmagazine.fr/bernard-giudicelli-le-Padel-aura-ses-internationaux/)

I quickly summarize below the main points / themes on which the FFT has started to work to structure and control the Padel.

The standards builders

The FFT created the Tennis Quality Plan (PQT) label in 2001. It is a label which represents a real guarantee of quality for any manufacturer who obtains it. This label is used to make a filter to ensure the quality and consistency of the construction of the tracks. Padel. For more information http://www.fft.fr/fft/equipement/plan-qualite-tennis

Author's note: Obtaining this label does not cost a fee. Many manufacturers did not want to be labeled so as not to have to pay fees. I know very good manufacturers who did not want to be labeled. All this to say that an unlabelled builder is not necessarily bad. The best tracks in the world are in Spain and yet many Spanish manufacturers do not have the PQT label.

Licenses Padel

The FFT has not created a specific license for Padel. This is the "FFT" license which allows you to play at the same time Tennis, Beach tennis and Padel. This single license greatly simplifies the licensing system. For 2 years, the FFT has released the ranking of players from Padel every year. Since this year an intermediate classification has emerged. http://www.fft.fr/jouer-sante/Padel/le-classement

Affiliation or empowerment

Tennis clubs with courts of Padel are naturally affiliated to the FFT-Padel (because they are already affiliated with the FFT as tennis clubs), which allows them to be part of the FFT network and to have the tournaments of Padel that they organize.

The question of affiliation arose above all for private structures (companies) which wanted their structures approved. Padel. To meet this demand, the FFT has created an "authorization" system, which is similar to affiliation, to allow private structures to join the FFT family and to be part of the official circuit of the Padel.
