The International Federation Padel and World Padel Tour agree on the unification of the classification. It will be effective from July 1st. A very good thing for the harmonization of international rankings. Until then, the professional circuit of padel, World Padel Tour, and the International Federation of Padel  seemed to be more in a form of opposition. It may well be a thing of the past.

It is therefore a small revolution in the world of padel. The ranking will be unique, regardless of the FIP and WPT events. It will be easier for players, but also for the public sometimes a little lost with these two "entities".

The WPT and the FIP are thus strengthening their collaboration by unifying the ranking of padel world for men and women categories.

This is an initiative that lays the foundations for joint cooperation between our two organizations for the professional development of padel and it will be a reality from July 1st.

As the FIP explains on his release. She continues:

The initiative led by the two entities will provide the padel a more professionalized vision of sport. On the one hand, the WPT will remain an international benchmark for padel professional and, on the other hand, the FIP will serve as a point of support for the national federations.

How does it work ?

From this same season, the point counting system is organized around 7 new categories.

These categories are designed to facilitate access to as many players as possible on the professional circuit.

4 categories will be organized directly by the World Padel Tour  (Master Final, Master, Open and Challenger). The mode of operation is actually the same as today.

3 categories will be organized by the FIP: FIP Star, FIP Rise and FIP Promotion.

This configuration should allow players participating in FIP tournaments to earn points to participate in WPT tournaments.

This new system of classification and counting of points will be effective the 1er next July.
