How do the best players in the world play? What are the preferred areas? Analyst Romain Taupin from Padelonomics study the bandejas and viboras.

I have analyzed here a hundred of bandejas/viboras performed by players on the left (but it's very similar to the right). What do we see?

The vast majority of shots are played diagonally.

Why?

1) It is the direction of the ball where there is the most depth of ground, therefore less possibility of making a mistake on our part;

2) By playing diagonally, we generally close the angles and contain the defender in a small part of the field (while the parallel is more risky on this side);

3) Whether it is the grid, or the double panes, the diagonal trajectories are less easy to read for the defender, causing an error on his part more easily.
