On the tests of padel official and approved by the French Tennis Federation, coaching is authorized. The framework has been further developed in the new competition guide 2023.

Coaching is authorized during the following competitions:

  • Senior category tournaments: P 500, P 1000, P 1500 or P 2000.
  • Youth tournaments, whatever the category.
  • Team championships, whatever the age category and whatever the competition (interclub, interleague, departmental)
  • Departmental & regional championships for young people, seniors and seniors plus in pairs.
  • French Senior Championships in pairs.

General rules, common to all the tests:

  • The coach must imperatively be licensed FFT (year of approval)
  • A coach can advise several pairs participating in the tournament or championship
  • A coach can only provide advice during rest times, and only during rest times
  • The coach must in no case intervene during discussions between players, or during a dispute with or without a referee.
  • In the event of reprehensible behavior on the part of the coach, the code of conduct applies, in fact, to the pair he advises

General Rules for Pairs Competitions

  • The pair must declare their coach(es) to the JAP before their first match
  • A coach can advise different pairs during the same competition
  • In order to be able to advise his players during a game, the coach must present himself and report to the Referee before the start of the game.

General Rules for Team Competitions

  • During team matches, a captain and an assistant captain are appointed, who also play the role of coaches during the matches.
  • The captains and alternate captains are, as in any team match, "interchangeable", and can coach a pair in turn during the same match
