The Spanish Federation of Padel, the FEP has provided the latest figures on the evolution of the number of padel graduated in Spain in 2017.

And you will see, that despite the two and a half million players of padel estimated in Spain, there are only 68.468 licensed players from padel in Spain.

If the figure seems positive in view of the growing trend in the number of padel in Spain, the fact remains that the figure seems particularly low compared to the number of practitioners.

In France, we have nearly a million licensed tennis players. So yes, we are a country where we dismiss much more easily than in Spain certainly ... But still.

How to explain this low figure?

We suggest that this is explained by the Spanish mentality of approaching this sport. The padel is a sport practiced enormously in leisure. The average level in Spain is actually relatively low.

We could even go further, explaining that the player of padel average player in France is better than the average player in Spain. We don't have precise figures, but the players of padel in France are often racket players (and more often tennis). In Spain, many players from padel do not have this snowshoeing experience. Suddenly, it is felt in the average level.

The other reason: The padel in Spain includes all age and sex categories. In France, for the moment there are quite a few very young people or seniors over 65, even if the gap is gradually narrowing.
