It is through an interview with Relevo that Leo Augsburger confided in the sacrifices he had to make in order to realize his dream of becoming a pro at padel.

Many topics are discussed: from his remarkable performance at the WPT Open La Rioja, to the underside of his life, passing by his future collaboration with Javi Rico…

“A few days ago we made the decision to play with Javi Rico”

“I think he can help me a lot in defence. We have two options to start, in Reus, and in Granada.

The goal for this year is to stay in the final draw and try to repeat the results that have been achieved so far.”

The WPT Open La Rioja: a major turning point in his career

“These were unforgettable days. We didn't realize what we were doing. Everything happened very quickly, in the blink of an eye, we were in the final.

After this giant leap, my popularity changed, especially in Argentina…

It is a tournament that marked us.”

New life in Spain

“Since January 9, I have been living in Barcelona with Pablo Crosetti and the whole NOX team.

The first weeks were tough. The absence of my family disturbed me, but over time, I got used to it. I live with my friends and dedicate myself to my passion.”

“At 14, I had to leave school”

“At the age of 14, when I was in middle school, I had to leave school.

This caused some problems at home: I had a big argument with my mother, she didn't want me to drop out of school.

One day we had a meeting with coach Jorge Nicolini during which we made the decision to give up. It was impossible to study and spend the year traveling from tournament to tournament and training all day.

But I recognize that I will have to resume studies, it is a necessary thing for the future.

German origins?

“The only thing I know of my surname is that it's German.

My whole family is Argentinian.”

Lebrón and Galán for role models

“Lebrón and Galán are an example for me.

I promised to give Ale a t-shirt and I did.

We trained together, then we went to dinner. I always try to listen to the best, conversations with them help me a lot.”
