Even if the information has not yet been made official, it seems that the European Championships Padel 2023, initially planned for next November, will ultimately not take place.

This competition, expected by European nations, would be postponed to the first half of 2024. A decision which may not be unanimous for two main reasons:

  • The nations had already planned and prepared for this championship in advance. Italy (Sardinia) would have been chosen as the host country.
  • This postponement would mean a sequence of two major international events in 2024: the European Championships at the start of the year, followed by the world championships traditionally scheduled for the fourth quarter.

The International Federation of Padel has so far remained silent on this subject. We do not know the official reasons.

However, all is not lost for European teams and nations. They will have the opportunity to participate in the FEPA Championship not recognized by the FIP, a competing competition to the European Championships organized by the FIP. This tournament, which will take place at the end of October, will welcome 30 pairs to Oeiras in Portugal.
