The coach of the France team padel, Patrick Fouquet gives us his flight plan and the ambition he has for the future French team of padel.

Do you already have an idea on the future players who will make up the French team of padel ?

Today, of course, there is a trend, but there are 3 months of competitions left and a lot can change, especially during these French championships of padel 2017.

I did not wait today to analyze the French results. I have been involved in this sport for 18 years. So I think I have a global knowledge of the French situation, even if there are new faces in the padel very promising French like the Maigret brothers for example.

In terms of ambition, what is the objective for these 2017 European Championships?

It depends if Spain is present or not. If Spain decides to boycott the competition as there are 2 years and we have a team of France as competitive as possible, there is no reason not to play the win in Portugal. However, it will have to be very careful with the Portugal team if it comes with its first team. And it will be very vigilant against Italy and Belgium.

More generally, I observe a tightening of the European level. There are a lot fewer small teams than before. So there are all the ways big games to go.

What do you think of the evolution of the level of games of French players?

The high French level of padel is undeniably tightening. With the separation of the Scatena / Haziza pair (French champion pair of padel) and on the other hand the investment of several young French people who have put in the means to go to train in Spain, the pool of potentially selectable players is increasingly large.

I am a very attentive observer of all tournaments in all regions. There will be no regional preference. Only the results will be authentic.

I will also rest on Alexis Salles who will certainly have a more important role to play in the future team of France gentlemen.
