It's a moment always eagerly awaited by the faithful of the Argentinian brand: Varlion has just unveiled its new 2023 collection. A collection that includes no less than 25 rackets divided into 7 ranges intended for all types of players and at all levels. .

The brand known for its know-how and its top-players has obviously not contented itself with changing the paint and design of its models, but prides itself on having equipped its rackets with technological innovations that give them a new lease of life. .

Premium rhymes with Airflow

The Airflow technology, already present in the rackets of the “Radio” range in 2022, has been improved and perfected with a new construction of the core that can be found in all the palates of the Premium range 2023. Six models incorporate this unique technology which revolutionizes traditional drilling by creating elongated holes at the edge of the frame. The objective is to make the air flow more fluid and thus obtain unparalleled aerodynamics. The round holes remain present in the central area, but in fewer numbers than those of competing brands.

Varlion opted for this construction after carrying out various studies and tests with amateur and professional players. On arrival, four of the flagship racquets of the professional world have been adapted for high-level amateurs, in order to offer them more power in all shots.

In addition, the entire Premium range is equipped with rough surfaces in order to give even more spin to the ball than the Prisma rackets of the 2022 collection.

Winter or summer model: place your bets!

Varlion has had another specificity for years: the brand offers its snowshoes in “winter” and “summer” models. This logic is the same as that of tire manufacturers: a tire does not behave in the same way depending on the temperature and humidity conditions: well for the palas, it is the same!

For the same model, Varlion has therefore adapted the materials used so that its snowshoes behave in the same way, whatever the temperatures. Concretely, it is mainly the hardness of the core of the racquet that is changing, with harder models for playing above 25 degrees and softer for dealing with cooler conditions.

For the players, the advantage is to maintain the same ball control whether it is 18°C or 27°C: it is no longer the player who modifies his game, it is the racquet which adapts to the conditions ! In 2023, the “Summer” rackets from the Premium range will be recognizable by their red color, while the “Winter” palas remain black.

Innovative drilling plans

Five of the seven 2023 racket lines (Pro, Black, Advanced, ITSV and ONE) feature a new drilling system. The latter is based on aerodynamic studies, which have proven that the holes located in the center of the rackets generate turbulence.

Based on these studies, Varlion engineers have devised a new drilling plan called “Aerodynamic Drilling”, which offers greater resistance to the core of the racquet and greater consistency in the shots struck in the central area. This technology automatically generates an improvement in the centering zone of the racquet.

Assorted colors

As indicated above, the Premium 2023 range brings aesthetic novelties, through the red color of the summer models, present on the brand logo and recalled on the rubber protecting the edge. This evolution is also found in the BLACK and ADVANCED ranges, whose matching colors add a colourful, elegant and innovative touch to the rackets of the 2023 collection.

The Mike Yanguas Collection

Mike Yanguas, 21st player in the world (WPT) at only 20 years old, has been part of the Varlion team since he was 15 years old. Varlion has dedicated an exclusive product line to him this year, starting with the rackets that the Spanish player helped to develop. The Malaga prospect uses the Bourne Airflow MY, which he himself describes as a “perfect” model: “It's one of the most powerful palas I've ever had and it's very quick at net ”, he explains in the video below.

In addition to the rackets, an assorted line of backpacks and racket bags will delight its fans, before other products dedicated to Mike Yanguas are unveiled.
