The senior French championships will take place with 32 teams for men and women. As you will have understood, in addition to 18 pairs qualified via the regional phase, there are still many places left! First of all, the FFT automatically qualifies the 5 best French teams following their good results.
Additionally, 7 pairs will be drafted based on the strength of each League's final draws (total weight of top 8 pairs). Thus, additional places will be allocated to certain leagues and will be given to the best teams according to the ranking of these regional events (and yes, the ranking matches are useful!).
Finally, the federation may allocate two Wild-Cards (WC requests should be sent by email to the FFT, no later than September 12, 2023 at 23:59 p.m.: padel@fft.fr). Note that the final number of pairs fished out will depend on the number of WCs used.
In addition, a WO of a player who participated in the regional championship automatically results in the forfeit of the pair. No pair recomposition will be possible.
After being rocked by tennis for almost 15 years, I became an absolute fan of its cousin, padel. For almost a year now, it is with another racket that I have been chasing the little yellow ball but with just as much passion! Based in Lyon, I intend to make you more aware of padel in the region and at the national level.
