Thunderclap at the FEPA. The Spanish Federation of Padel throws in the towel and withdraws from the members of the European institution to devote himself fully to the FIP.

The decision was taken in the General Assembly. President Ramón Morcillo and 42 of the 56 FEP assemblyists have voted against continuing to be part of the Federation of European Padel (FEPA).

Faced with disagreements, political concerns, rumors and other excessive investments that caused “war” between FEPA and FIP, Spain decides to cut it short. Today, Morcillo guides his federation towards a global movement, where FIP would be the organization to follow but where, if the dialogue is clear and sharp, FEPA could have a role to play.

Ramón Morcillo knows perfectly well the weight that Spain weighs in the panorama of padel global. This country must be an example for others. Sport must be united to continue its global ascent and not separated by political and administrative quarrels. For him, the International Federation of Padel is the main body to follow, but all other organizations are welcome to contribute ideas and projects.

The door to VET therefore remains open to FEPA if it decides to fit into the FIP mold. Case to follow…
