The President of the International Federation of Padel, Luigi Carraro, reacted after the announcement of the acquisition of World Padel Tour by Qatar Sports Investments and therefore the merger of the WPT circuits and Premier Padel.

Premier Padel being the official circuit of the FIP, the Italian is more than concerned by the news. He explains the role that his federation will have to play next season and looks back on its various actions over the past few months.

“The FIP will have a huge responsibility in the governance, from 2024, of the circuit Premier Padel unified which was born from the merger of the latter with the World Padel Tour. We have worked for this historic moment for the past few years and will continue to do so for the growth of our sport. On the other hand, over the years, from the success of our sport at the European Games, a success recognized by the officials of the European Olympic Committees, to the success of the Cupra FIP and Premier Padel around the world, our work in collaboration with the national federations of the FIP family has produced results that were unimaginable until a short time ago.”

As you have understood, the FIP emerges strengthened from this union, hopefully good news with a view to the padel to become as soon as possible olympic sport !
