In October 2021, the government launched a “5000 sports grounds” plan for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This program governed by theNational Sports Agency provides for the financing of 500 tracks of padel in France. A few months from the end of the submission of files, here is where is on this ambitious project for the little yellow ball.

If you padel will not make its appearance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the government has reserved a special place for our sport in its "5000 sports grounds" plan for 2024. As its name suggests, this program aims to subsidize sports equipment throughout the national territory in order to give a sporting impetus for the Olympic Games. All sports are covered by the program, and the padel is not to be outdone since 500 tracks are part of the objectives set by the President of the Republic.

Conditions to respect

For eligible projects, the subsidy rate ranges from 50% to 80% (even 100% in overseas territories), with a ceiling of 500.000 euros per file. By recalling that 500 tracks of padel are planned on the 5000 plots announced, this gives an idea of the investment of the French State in the padel today.
For local authorities and sports associations affiliated with the FFT, there is still time to take advantage of this aid, respecting the following conditions: not benefiting from more than 80% of public aid, guaranteeing the sporting nature of the equipment of permanently, do not start the work before the acknowledgment of receipt of the compliant, eligible and complete file. The eligible nature of the project will be determined by the DRAJES (Regional Academic Delegation for Youth, Engagement and Sports) at the time of application submission.
The plan aims above all to promote the construction of these facilities in places generating flows (schools, places of professional activity, town centers, places of residence). The subsidy rate is higher for eco-responsible, enlightened, secure, innovative and/or connected projects and if they promote female practice.

857 files retained in 2022

For the tracks of padel, the FFT recommends setting up a project with at least two plots of land, a referenced builder (Quality Plan padel or Qualisport), a clubhouse and a qualified teacher padel. The project leader will also have to sign with the users of the equipment a convention of use and animation guaranteeing slots in free and free access under certain conditions.

In total, the ANS plan has a budget of 200 million euros. In 2022, a total of 857 files were selected concerning 1400 pieces of equipment and representing 53 million euros, all sports combined. This is more than 50% of the budget allocated that year. To date, the Ministry of Sports states that the tracks of padel are among the most financed equipment, even if we will not yet see bandejawelded viboras at the Paris Olympics!
The last allocation of 2023 credits will take place on September 15, 2023. If you are interested, contact your DRAJES quickly to find out the date for submitting the files.
