The young Parisian Marie Rondot focuses on her passion: padel. Her goal: to become a professional. At P1000 of 4Padel Montreuil, she delivered a very good performance alongside Clara Mansart, taking 3rd place. She explains to us.

Victories that feel good

“In this intense tournament, we entered in 1/16th, where we achieved a clear victory 6/0 6/0. Our progress continued in 1/8th with a victory against Emma Galfre and Marine Fontaine. We then triumphed in 1/4 over Elise David-Bordier and Nasatasia Boitier Legourd. These victories were achieved during a very long day, which started at 8:45 a.m. and ended at 19 p.m. The following day, we encountered stronger resistance, losing in the semi-final against Mélissa Martin and Mélanie Ros (1/6 4/6). However, we were able to bounce back to win the small final against Samantha Coquinos and Cyrine Hamrouni (6/2 6/2).”

Invest myself in padel and believe in me

“Since the start of the school year, I have participated in numerous tournaments, which shows my increased desire to get involved in padel. This choice aligns with the end of my engineering studies at ESILV. This tournament was a reflection of the hard mental work I put in. At the same time, my individual physical sessions allowed me to sustain the intense pace of the matches and to play a third set effectively if necessary. These two elements notably enabled these weekend performances, despite training at padel limit."

With Clara, it's here to stay

“At first, Clara and I didn't play much together, because she was mainly focused on tennis. However, this summer she expressed a desire to train at padel and to invest in a more structured project. Our alliance on this P1000 was an opportunity to show our complementarity: Clara, with her aggressive game and her power in smashing, and me, with a more thoughtful and strategic approach. This combination, coupled with excellent off-field understanding, is our strength. We are now aiming for the Strasbourg P2000 with ambition.

The desire to progress

“Having a partner who complements you both on and off the field is essential to fully exploiting their abilities on the field. padel. Although we have distinct areas of improvement (attack for me, defense for Clara), our alliance works. With the rise of padel women's tournaments, the proliferation of tournaments and the growing commitment of players, the desire to progress is stronger than ever. With my coach Aurélien Rambaud, we will try to go as far as possible.”
