On the occasion of the P1000 which was held last weekend in Padel Sand, we were able to speak with a luxury guest, Miguel Semmler. Indeed, the Spaniard once again shared the track with Cyril Hanouna.

At the microphone of our journalist, the Spaniard returned to his story as well as his partnership with the presenter of TPMP, who unfortunately stopped in the first round against Caumont / Deflers.

“Very happy to play here with Cyril”

“It was a balanced and very complicated match. We had a lot of options in the first set but overall I'm very happy to be here and play with Cyril.”

"It is true that on the World Padel Tour I play on the right, but I can adapt and play both sides. Switching sides would be an option as we just played two tournaments where I was on the left and it didn't work out. Next time we will surely change sides to see what it can give.

“I have to improve and understand this sport well”

“I started out as a professional tennis player and four years ago I started playing tennis. padel. I wanted to continue a professional career and seeing that the padel made me feel good, I got involved as needed. Especially last year I had a great season. I work a lot to succeed and continue to progress.”

“I have just arrived in the world of padel, the players have a very high level and I think that I must continue to understand this sport well but also to improve myself both technically and physically.”

“It's a very fun and super playful sport and it's true that there are a lot of tennis players who like to play tennis. padel. There are some ex-tennismen who tried in the past to start a career in 20×10, like Ben Tison, but there are few in the end. Nevertheless among the ladies currently there are two or three players who have done it and for whom it works rather well, like for example Marta Marrero or Gemma Triay.

Possible Top 100 goal for Cyril?

“Yes I think we can get Cyril into the French top 100. I told him but we need time to train, progress and play several tournaments together. But in some time, I'm sure, Cyril will finish in the top 100. I think if we play a full season together, the objective can be fulfilled.

“Next year, according to my schedule, my goal would be to play as many tournaments as possible with Cyril here in France. So I think we will see each other again soon”.

You will have understood it, just like his trainer David Lillo, the young Spaniard has no doubts about his French partner's abilities and remains convinced that the latter can achieve his goal!
