Director of Blockchain.com Miami Padel Open, Nallé Grinda does not hide his enthusiasm for the progress of the tournament at the microphone of Padel Magazine.

“We sold all the tickets for the week”

Padel Magazine : We're living a pretty incredible week in dream facilities, with crazy events, matches between celebrities... do you think this corresponds to the new standard of tournaments of padel professionals?

Nallé Grinda: “It should be. I think that today we have an approach that goes beyond the framework of the game because the padel must be a party, and we see it as an event in its own right. Last night we had a first gig with Rick Ross, tonight we'll have Ludacris and then Gianlucca Vacchi doing a DJ set for us. We had the celebrities who played on the field, we have a charity operation that generated more than a million dollars in donations… so it's thanks to the personalities, but also to the quality of the sport. This is what makes the padel brings together wealthy people, or others who are less so.

Even from the pros, all the feedback is amazing. Even those who lost stayed, we have hotel problems because more than 3/4 of those who are no longer in the running want to stay longer, so we are very happy.”

Padel Magazine : We have something quite incredible with full stands every evening, but also with the public who come during the day, during the week. Did you expect to have such enthusiasm for this event?

Nallé Grinda: “It's true that we were very pleasantly surprised. We were expecting more people on the weekend and to have a somewhat difficult week, but we realize that the public has responded. This demonstrates the quality of the show, which is the padel. Today we have put the means, and the answers are above our expectations. We sold out all the tickets for the whole week, it's as simple as that. This will inspire us to think even bigger for next year.”

"What is certain is that this event is here to continue"

Padel Magazine : ” The audience was boiling hot during the match that saw the elimination of Lebron and Galan against Campagnolo and Garrido. We saw Lebron complaining on his social networks, would that be a downside?

Nallé Grinda: Frankly it's part of the game, on the contrary it spice up the event. It is true that there were small overflows, but we settled them right away. We were very responsive. As soon as Juan Lebron complained about certain spectators, we went to calm them down. I sat down personally in the gallery, with two guards and there was no more overflow.

Maybe Lebron felt he was losing control of the game, and at 6-2 for him there were the same spectators and he wasn't complaining. So that's how it is, we all know that, I myself was a player and we know that things get harder to take when you start losing. Maybe he will realize that there was no reason to pour out on social networks.

Padel Magazine : When are we going to see an event of this caliber again in the US. And will you still be behind it all?

Nallé Grinda: “Obviously, it's our objective to continue our momentum. It is therefore obvious that there will be a sequel, now there are a lot of negotiations, discussions. Will it be this year, next year? What is certain is that this event is here to stay.

Will there be others? Surprise…"

Passionate about football, I discovered the padel in 2019. Since then, it's been crazy love with this sport to the point of abandoning my favorite sport.
