Jorge Nieto Ruiz and Jon Sanz Zalba qualified for the finals of the World Padel Tour Finland Open. They beat Miguel Yanguas and Fernando Belasteguín in three sets: 7/5 4/6 6/3.

A video arbitration which had a decisive role?

Fernando Belasteguín looks tired after a tough game the day before.

At 3/2 Sanz / Nieto, Bela manages to save two break points on his serve thanks to well-placed lobs. 3/3.

On Nieto's service, a request for video arbitration is made. Although the ball seems to touch the line, the referee refuses the call, judging that it is too late to check.

Subsequently, Bela and Yanguas lose 8 consecutive points. 5/4 in favor of Nieto and Sanz. At this moment, Bela looks very agitated and nervous, like in his quarter-final.

On Yanguas' serve at 6/5, two set points are saved. But Nieto closes the set with a powerful smash to win 7/5.

An astonishing 2nd set

The set begins with a Bela showing a distinct lack of mobility.

At 2/1 – golden point, a big foul from Bela gives Nieto the break. Since the end of the first set, Bela seems less present, and his difficult match in the quarter-finals obviously weighs on him.

At 3/1 for Nieto, three break points are saved, but Nieto fouls on the golden point. Nieto and Sanz then play a very bad service game. 3/2.

Nieto seemed to be struggling for two games, and on his serve Bela won a shutout. Bela continues with three consecutive games to lead 5/3.

The level of play drops considerably in this second set, and Bela and Yanguas come back. 6/4.

Nieto and Sanz are fresher

Nieto and Sanz regain control of the match with a break to lead 3/2, then 4/2.

The match was an emotional rollercoaster for all players, with notable ups and downs. But in the end, it was the pair made up of Jorge Nieto Ruiz and Jon Sanz Zalba who won in three sets: 7/5 4/6 6/3.
