A few days ago, Alex Corretja, new manager of the Spanish circuit, presented the new formula du World Padel Tour. This brand new version aims to keep players under contract after 2023. Several improvements have been mentioned, such as relations with athletes, the technological means put in place or even prize money.

This WPT 2.0 wants to be closer to the players and wants to offer them better conditions. At the economic and sporting level, these proposals can be very interesting for final draw players who will see higher prices than before and better means put in place.

However, the other competitors, who are a little lower in the ranking, could also find their happiness there because now the number of registered pairs who can access the final table will be 48 and not 32 as is currently the case. That is to say that many players currently playing in previas will start directly in the main draw.

In addition, those who remain in the qualifications will have access to various services previously reserved for the best. Indeed, the athletes will be able to take advantage of the hotel taken care of by the organizers but also of the catering on site. Important points for all those who are struggling to get by financially.

It remains to be seen whether these improvements will be able to tip the scales in favor of the World Padel Tour...
