The first men's 1/2 final in Alicante pitted the Capra/Arroyo pair against the Esbri/Alonso sensation. Once again the young Spaniards impressed in Alicante.

Alonso and Esbri on cloud nine

Edu Alonso and Juanlu Esbri thwart the predictions in Alicante. The two young Spaniards offered themselves the scalp of Moyano/Gil and the TS1 of the Campagnolo/Sanchez tournament. Facing Capra and Arroyo, Alonso and Esbri keep the same dynamic. With impressive ardour, the two 22-year-old players won the first set 6/3.

Esbri Alonso - OPEN 500

At the end of the first set, Alex Arroyo seems diminished and receives treatment on the bench. The powerful Spaniard seems hit in the left knee. Esbri and Alonso are on cloud nine. Offensively, defensively, the two young players recite their score to perfection. Capra and Arroyo are hustled and fail to deal with Edu and Juanlu's ardor. Quickly they escape in the second set and lead 3/0. The two young Spaniards are unstoppable and win in 1h17, 6/3 6/2.

A first final on the WPT (at home)

At 22, the two young Spaniards offer themselves a first final together on the World Padel Tour. Alonso and Esbri will know their future opponents after the second men's 1/2 final, opposing Diestro/Fernandez VS Rubio/Ruiz. The two players from the communidad de Valencia will play a final (almost) at home this Sunday. Will they continue to thwart the predictions? Answer tomorrow in Alicante.
