In the midst of gloomy news, marked by the war in Ukraine, double-digit inflation, the Palmade affair and the prospect of having to work until we enter the nursing home, there are oxygen bubbles that do good.

The one we are going to talk to you about draws its air from the side of Toulouse, from an artist of notes, words but also the racket. At almost 33 years old, Eyal Bensimon plays several strings. Those of his tennis racket allowed him to reach the regional elite and a ranking of – 15. His sporting career then led him to the padel, where the cord of his pala earned him a string of victories and finals in tournaments.

Fall and get up

Recently, Eyal was runner-up in a P500 with Matthieu Escalé and winner of another P500, in Carcassone, alongside Yohan Roumy, a true “returning” of the padel after two years without playing due to injury.

Falling and getting up, Eyal Bensimon knows all too well what it is: that's what he tells with a third string instrument, his guitar, and even a fourth: his voice. In his songs, the artist Eyal recounts his dreams, his sorrows, his hopes and the way in which he overcomes obstacles, moves mountains. He "does not forget his wounds, which spread as long as they last", but, each time, as he sings, "I get up when I fall".

Criss-crossing France, Eyal has already provided opening acts in the concerts of Boulevard des Airs and Amir, which he has moreover converted to padel.

"Everything will be fine, even if I don't know"

Sport is obviously very present in his songs, especially tennis in “Champion“, an admission of his flaws and a sensitive tribute to his father, or boxing in his last piece, entitled “Everything will be alright“. “Head in the clouds”, Eyal tells us that “in the middle of this hell”, he “waits quietly for the end of the world” and hopes “that the sky will remain clear”: “Everything will be fine, even if I know nothing”, such is his creed, always optimistic.

These different pieces, which we can see and hear on his Youtube channel, are united in a first album, which will be released on March 10. An outing that Eyal will celebrate with his crazy energy with a concert on March 22 at the Live connection In Toulouse.

Finally, only one thing is missing for everything to go even better and for happiness to be (almost) complete: a song about the padel. Chick?
