What makes you vibrate in the padel ? THE'love pure and simple Game or the progression, to become better than yesterday. These two theories are opposed, and they must coexist. Each player must be able to identify with the theory that he finds best suited to his vision of things.

We will have to differentiate two categories. Amateur players, and high level players. They will not be animated the same way. They will tackle the padel In a different way. But it is not exclusive. That is to say that an amateur player, having the obsession to always want to progress, will not necessarily recognize himself in the first theory.

For them, and most top players, what matters is being number 1. There is no room in the Hall of Fame for the rest. You have to have an ambitious goal and stick to it.

Juan Martin Diaz Fernando Belasteguin Padel Glory and Passion

Therefore, the value of the effort is therefore lost. Indeed, success has a different definition depending on whether one places oneself on the side of passion or glory. For some, it only happens when we manage to be numéro 1.

Take the example of the Big 3 of tennis (Big 4 with Andy Murray). In recent years it has been very hard for other players to exist. This period marks a break with the duo rivalries of previous years (Borg-McEnroe, McEnroe-Lendl, Sampras-Agassi etc.). Times change, and the glory will leave an indelible mark in the hearts of fans when the Big 3 brings the circuit to a halt.

What place for other players? We can define “three lives” of a top athlete:

- Aspire to be number 1 (and other personal goals)

- Reach the number 1 spot (an important emotional step)

- Maintain this place (more rational emotion)

Finally, you have to know how to accept for others to have passion without knowing the glory. This is what will happen to ordinary people and it is the harsh reality of sport. But it takes passion to aspire to fame.
