Jean-Michel Pequery et Jean-Thomas Peyrou made the powder talk this weekend by winning theOpenWinWin Padel Nîmes. A P1000, where the Pequery / Peyrou pair was the favorite of the competition. And the least we can say is that she did not waste her time on the ground.

Matches won in 2 sets, relatively quickly each time. And a final where Justin marlot had to make forget the member of the team of France 2019 Justin Lopez, forfeit following an injury, during its association with the Esprit coach Padel Lyon: François Authier.

WinWin Padel Nîmes resumes thoroughly!

This 1st major tournament since the resumption of padel with the P1000 from WinWin Padel Nîmes offered a spectacle, but also and above all great sweats with a sun that hit very hard on this superb center of padel.

As always with Julien Datcharry, we rarely come except for a tournament padel. On the menu 3 events which allowed to play for 3 days thoroughly. A P250, a P500 and finally a P1000.

  • P250: Jean Dumartin / Damien Gayer
  • P500: Benjamin Grué / Maxime Vian

A Bordeaux air near Nîmes

Quite astonishing given the table and the very good players of padel on all events. Yet the BIG PADEL BORDEAUX was in everyone's mouth this weekend. Normal, the players of the Bordeaux club won all 3 events.

Not really a surprise given the forces involved, but still, we had to be able to do it.

Pequery / Peyrou: how far?

A few months ago, Jean-Michel Pequery had marked his surprise at our microphones by being astonished not to be part of the extended list of the France team at El Padel Club before COVID-19.

With this victory in P1000, it is a new message that he certainly sends to the coach. “I am operational and the results show that you can count on me ”. Nevertheless at the end of August, a priori, the gathering will be with Jean-Thomas Peyrou, but “without the weekend partner. It's a shame for him because he has everything to be part of this gathering at the Club du Mas in Perpignan".

Places are very expensive, especially for men where competition is particularly tough. So there are bound to be disappointed.

On the side of "JT", we continue on the good season of 2019. Remember that he had achieved, with his partner Max Bourgoin, a semi-final at the last FFT PADEL TOUR 2019 to 4PADEL from Strasbourg.

JT had also reached 5th place with Jean-Michel Pequery during the first event of the FFT PADEL TOUR 2019 in the public square in Bordeaux.

We remember that he had also planned an association with Adrien Maigret on 3 events of padel. Since then, the health crisis has passed there. But we see him more and more at the forefront.

Jean-Michel Pequery is not left with since he will continue his association with one of the very best French players on the right: Jérémy Ritz. Newly dad, Jérémy will come back to the track during the next P2000s set up by the FFT.

Note that our two champions of padel, Géraldine Sorel and Elodie Invernon took part in the P500 men. Well done to them because it was far from that simple!
