The new competition guide from padel never ceases to be in the sights of players. This time, it is the assimilation of the players of padel which is on the front of the stage.

Assimilating players who already have a good tennis background is almost normal. The player should have some automatisms to allow him to manage to play padel quickly. The question asked is whether a very good tennis player can be part of the top 40 for men and the top 15 for women.

Without playing and directly qualified for the French championships

The French Championships of padel are coming… In nearly a month, the finals will take place in Toulouse Padel Club. And with the new regulation of padel set up by the French Tennis Federation, it is no longer obliged to take a pair having won or having been a finalist in a final phase. She can and should select pairs based on team weight across all regions.

Some regions will therefore have several representatives while others will hardly have any. On paper, very good idea. This makes it possible to have the best pairs in the final phases.

However, we realized that pairs could be called for the French championships 2018 while some and some players had hardly participated in tournaments of padel and that they owed their ranking only to their assimilation because of their past in tennis.

So is it normal that a pair that has hardly ever participated in a tournament? padel potentially qualifies for the final stages of the French championships of padel ?

Recall, there are 48 players and 48 players who will be selected for the finals of the championships of France. it means that some players ladies and gentlemen can be selected through an assimilation.

Among the ladies, it is even more obvious, we could have a very well ranked player (French top 20 of padel) as a former top 1st series ...

These assimilations could be revised in our opinion to avoid ending up with players frustrated to see their place taken by players who did not really participate in the French tournaments of padel.
