Benjamin Tison was the last French representative in the men's draw of the BNL Italy Major. In the first round, the Tison/Mena pair was knocked down in two sets by the Spaniards Pablo Lijo and Miguel Semmler.

The first round was difficult for our four Frenchmen. After qualifying brilliantly coming out of qualifying on Monday, the French duo Moreau / Inzerillo lost in two sets against the Italian pair Di Giovanni / Cattaneo. This afternoon Jérémy Sclatena and his Spanish teammate Fran Ramirez suffered the law of Cardona and Munoz. Benjamin Tison therefore represented our last hope of qualification.

Problem, Tison and Mena were opposed to good customers, Miguel Semmler and Pablo Lijo who took part in a few stages on the A1 Padel this season. On paper, the debates were in favor of the more experienced Iberians.

A balanced first set

In the first round, Mena and Tison stand up to their opponents but are broken at the end of the set. Lijo and Semmler take the lead and win the first run.

From the start of the second round, the Franco-Spanish pair give up their service game. The Spaniards insist and take advantage of the inconstancy of Tison and Mena. However, the latter were not discouraged and raised their level of play to return to the height. Benjamin and Victor push in this second set but fail to create a break opportunity. At 5/5, Pablo Lijo and Miguel Semmler manage to make the difference by making the break. Tison and Mena won't come back, they lose in two sets 6 / 4 7 / 5.
