Who will be part of the French team of padel ladies and gentlemen? Not so easy for the breeders Alexis Salles and Patrick Fouquet to make a choice. There will certainly be disappointments. We will try to put ourselves in the shoes of our coaches and captains of the France team of padel.

Our attempts at selection in the ladies

In ladies, we have the essentials:

Alix Collombon and Jessica Ginier are the French numbers. They were recently French champions of padel for the 2nd time in a row. Apart from an injury, they will be selected.

Andrey Casanova and Mai Vo arrived 2nd in the French championships of padel. They were in a favorable ballot for the selection. Thanks to their second place, they are automatically selected. They had a very good competition at Toulouse Padel Club, and Mai Vo surprised her world especially in the final.

Laura Clergue is obviously a fixture of the France team. She was not present during these championships of France and she missed the competition. But his level and his experience will not be too much for this world. She could play again with her historical partner Audrey Casanova who will arrive in Paraguay with full confidence.

In the inevitable, we dare to put Lea Godallier. In our opinion, it is part of the top French 4 / 5. She has particularly progressed for a year and has become a complete player. Playful right, regular but also able to play very quickly, she seems to arm to achieve a very good tournament in Paraguay.

The question that could arise: Who is Mai associated with? Not obvious, because we know that she likes to play on the left and that she has a form of allergy for the right position even though many believe that she could also play this position very well. Mai Vo has shown that she has a style of play that can really get in the way. A fighter that we prefer to have with us! What if Audrey continued to play with Mai, while Laura Clergue will be associated with Léa Godallier… What do you think? it looks very interesting on paper.

What makes us 6 players for 8 places. We are missing 1 player right and 1 player left.

Players in a ballot:

  • To the right :

Géraldine has shown that right, it sends! Offensive and concentrated, she is a perfect partner. Another advantage, she can play on the left, a position she held with her former partner Sandy Godard.

Kristina Clément plays left and right. With her partner Alexis Dechaume, she played on the left. She was one of the best players in the French championships of padel 2018. Particularly physically sharp, able to do just about anything padel,

  • To the left :

Mélissa Martin is able to do everything on the ground. Problem, it is sometimes irregular with some non games to his credit. In the good days, we see her doing exceptional things. Able to hit hard and achieve PAR 3, it can be a real weapon in a team.

Marianne Vandaele can also do everything in the field. She is able with her two-handed backhand to surprise everyone. It can cut the trajectories and hurt opponents. But in defense, there are still some points to improve.

Emmelien Lambregts is certainly one of the best French players on the left. She has all the shots of padel available. She can also hit hard. Its weak point: It may lack visibility on big tournaments. Pity. We would have liked her to test herself during the players' meeting in Beausoleil a few months ago.

Our opinion : Emmelien Lambregts is more regular on the left. She also has more worked balls than Marianne or Melissa. Technically, she appears above. But his problem is that we have seen little in major competitions. Therefore…

Another important element, taking Mélissa Martin, Patrick Fouquet does not break a pair and he would select a player who is already close to other players. Would he be willing to take a chance, trying a hit with Emmelien?

On the right, Géraldine Sorel seems to prevail.

We would opt for: Sorel / Lambregts

Prognosis :

  • Collombon / Ginier
  • Vo / Casanova
  • Godallier / Clergue
  • Sorel / Martin

Our selection attempts in men

For the men, there are 3 essential pairs that stand out: Bastien Blanqué / Johan Bergeron, Adrien Maigret / Benjamin Tison and Robin Haziza / Jérémy Scatena. If these 6 players are not injured, he should all be part of the team France. 3 pairs formed and competitive.

We believe that Maxime Moreau has also become a fixture in view of his latest outstanding performances.

We have 1 place left for the men, and more of a right-wing player since Max prefers to play on the left. The competition is very tough.

To the right :

Jérémy Ritz is certainly the most complete player and in favorable nerd to join the team. A steel mind, a wall and an ideal partner for the team.

Mathieu Lapouge is a very appreciated player. Being left-handed is always a must. We saw him achieve great performances with Morgan Mannarino in the first half of the season. He finished 3e of the championships of France. It's almost hopeless for him when he was not even sure to participate. His worries, his health. He is not at best physically and he must first get back to health certainly before returning to business. (It happened 3e anyway!). He also explained a few weeks ago that he wanted to take a step back from the competition for his family, his work and his health.

Julien Maigret is like a joker in a team. He is able to break walls. An atypical game that makes its opponents thwart. A player who can always shake the best.

Cédric Carité is always competitive. Able to defend as to attack, he has a rare experience in France. What may be blamed on him is perhaps his disconnections in the field, but we remember that when he played for the France team, he always responded in the hot moments.

Loïc Le Panse: Complete player, able to play right and left, he shows every tournament very beautiful things. They had also played together and there had been good results, but also less.

Nicolas Trancart: Emeritus player. With Yoann Roumy, they are players who have achieved a great championship in France ... We forget them a little too often, because they are undoubtedly the best players in France. Maybe still a little behind the best, but it gets closer little by little.

To the left :

Jérôme Ferrandez is necessarily part of the shortlist. He performed at the Club du Mas a very good performance. Left player, but also very complete right player. A great mind.

Dimitri Huet is for us the player of these championships in France. Unfortunately still unknown to the public, he showed last weekend that he could be one of the best French players. He carried his partner despite the strength of the opponents. If he played on the left with Mathieu Lapouge, he can easily change sides. His balls are worked and his consistency makes him perhaps the surprise of these selections.

Our opinion : In view of the latest benefits, Jeremy Ritz seems to be the man of the situation. Max and Jeremy know each other well and have already played together. On the right, alongside Max Moreau, it could be a very competitive pair.

Mathieu Lapouge is left-handed and could therefore seduce the coach Alexis Salles. He arrived 3e of the French Championships and had very good results on the first part of the season. But he is not yet at 100% despite his 3th place. We saw it live on the semifinal. It feels for now, despite its great benefits, a tone slightly below.

Dimitri Huet was THE player of these French Championships of padel. Very regular, well-crafted balls, players capable of playing on the left as well as on the right, we would like to see him position on the right with Maxime Moreau. The other advantage: He is very physically sharp. But, will Alexis Salles be able to opt for a player who has not yet had experience in Team France? You have to start one day, right?

We would hesitate between Huet / Moreau or Ritz / Moreau as 4e pair.

Prognosis :

  • Blanqué / Bergeron
  • Tison / Maiget
  • Haziza / Scatena
  • Moreau / Ritz

The list of selected players should be communicated shortly.
