It is one of the pairs that makes people talk in the corridors of the World Padel Tour this year. Some say that legend Juan Martin Diaz will polish the Augustin Tapia rough diamond. In an interview, these two players of Argentinian origin talk about their future padel on the international scene.

Juan Martin Diaz:

Let's start by taking over the career of Juan Martin Diaz. 14 years 1 number world alongside Fernando Belasteguin, this player has acquired a great experience. Although some times bickered by negative comments against him, he remains a key figure. Some said that his way of playing and the demand he asked his partner was unhealthy at the right game.

Today JMD recognizes that he has not always made the best choices in his career, especially when he played with Maxi Sanchez or Mati Diaz to name a few. A big injury kept her off the field for several months. In 2018 he returns to the highest level, with new ambitions alongside Paquito Navarro.

Augustin Tapia:

As for Augustin Tapia, not much to say about his career because it is only just beginning. Despite an injury and at the height of his 20 years, he has just entered the padel professional and already has a promising future. Note that Augustin Tapia had not yet touched a racket that JMD was already world number 1.

Why this new pair?

It was JMD who took the first step. For several years he had followed the evolution of Augustine, and this season seemed to him the right one to try something. Coming from the same country, the rapprochement was simpler.

JMD announces that this season is likely to be the last for him, and "pass" to a young player would be a culmination of his career. He will try to do his best to make the game easier for Tapia because he knows that his way of playing has nothing in common (left-handed, very present at the net, and ... old 1 number).

Goals ?

It's a bit the Argentinean or even South American mentality that stands out. No goals, but a desire to play, to enjoy the field. If all this works and especially if both players do not encounter physical problems, the results will come.

Let's wish this pair a good season and especially that they offer us show.
