In an XXL interview with Fernando Belasteguin and Sanyo Gutiérrez for Marca, “El Mago” explains that he had discussed with Juan Tello before thinking of reforming Bela/Sanyo 2.0 pair.

We wondered not long ago if the association between the two Argentinians had been made "by default". And finally, if the two players now seem delighted to be able to share the track again, they explain that they did not imagine at first coming back with each other.

Sanyo had indeed initiated a discussion with Juan Tello in mid-season: “When Agustin could not play the tournaments of Premier Padel, I discussed with Juan Tello, but he wanted to end the season with Chingotto. He offered to see it maybe later but when I contacted him again, he told me that he was already engaged in a new project, and from there, with my coach, we saw that the most logical option was to call Bela.”

For its part, White states that he too hadn't thought of Gutiérrez at first: “The Sanyo option hadn't crossed my mind, the truth is that at no time did I think he could have thought of me. Then I think about it coldly and tell myself that I was stupid, because for me, it is the best option."

“El Mago de San Luis” concludes by assuring that its number 1 choice is indeed Belasteguin: “After the Worlds I decided to play with Bela, I got to know 'El Gato' well… but my preferred option was Fernando.”

Let's hope for the two men that they will be able to take advantage of all their experience to get a little closer to the first place in the ranking!
