Total Padel is a site 100% dedicated to padel which has experienced exponential growth since its commissioning in April 2022.

On the occasion of last Master Final in history of the WPT in Barcelona Simon Balles, buyer of rackets, bags and accessories padel of Total Padel, looks back on Total's expansion Padelat the microphone of Franck Binisti.

The birth of Total Padel

Total Padel, it is a brand that belongs to the same group as Tennis Warehouse. Basically, there were a few of us from Tennis Warehouse who were sde fans padel, to play. So we pushed more and more to have a section padel, first on the Tennis Warehouse website.

In 2018, we added this small section but it was not very visible and we did not have a very wide choice either. But we immediately saw the enthusiasm of our customers for this sport. Two years later, we decided to put someone 100% dedicated to padel. Since then, the sport has gained visibility. First, on Tennis Warehouse Europe, with a much more visible tab, then a nicer section in terms of navigation and above all a much wider choice.

With the explosion of padel, we saw that the demand was very high. And at one point, it became obvious to create a site 100% dedicated to padel. Therefore, in April 2022, we decided to create Total Padel. However, we still have the tab on Tennis Warehouse because it's important for us to keep it there too.

The transition from Tennis Warehouse to Total Padel

For the moment, Total Padel has not yet surpassed Tennis Warehouse in its number of sales. It's a goal, we're doing quite well with the tennis guys. It's true that when I see the tennis figures, it's a good objective. Afterwards, the difference is still so big for us.

On the other hand, tab turnover padel on Tennis Warehouse was largely surpassed by Total Padel. The transfer went well, especially since on Tennis Warehouse, we have a Total tab Padel on the home page to redirect our customers who want to see padel.

40 to 45% of turnover for France and Italy

Growth depends on where you start. We started padel in 2018. As a result, it still grew very quickly. However, compared to some competitors, we remain on figures that are not important enough for me.

The growths are beautiful, we managed to achieve our 2023 objectives and even surpass them a little. We are very satisfied but we also know that the road remains long. We will continue to set high goals because we love challenges.

Compared to last year, we will do between +60 and +70%. As I said, these are very significant growths, but it all depends on where you start. We started from scratch, on our side. NOW, The goal for next year is to have the same growth as this year.

It's always complicated to talk numbers but at Total Padel, we will end the year with a turnover between 2 million and 2.5 million. The France and Italy represent 40 to 45% of this turnover.

The desire to internationalize

Total Padel, it’s not French at all basically. We are in Germany, on the border, not very far from Strasbourg. Today, we focus on the whole of Europe, not just France. THE padel grows almost everywhere and there are some countries that we cannot ignore, like Italy for example.

Every month, we have France and Italy which are in a bit of a duel for first place in sales. These are the two most important countries at the moment. But as the market share is 2 to 3 times less important in France than in Italy, it is in France that we are stronger.

The goal, it’s still about gaining visibility in Italy. We have the site which is translated into Italian. We will participate in the Padel Trend Expo in Milan. We also did another exhibition, earlier in the year, in Rome. It happens little by little but these are things that take time.

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
