After releasing a first version of the Sanyo Gutiérrez Black Edition model in September 2023, Siux renews the “baguette” of the wizard of San Luis with technical characteristics that do not upset the previous model, but refine it pianissimo in order to meet the demands of the 2022 World Champion.

So I'm going to tell you about the SIUX SG Copper Edition, a pala that does not lack assets in a corrected and improved version for 2023, which I had the pleasure of being able to audition for almost 3 weeks.

Featuring a unique design reminiscent of the pre-season prototypes of professional players or engineers themselves, this stunning reference in its exquisitely polished black dress features some copper-colored details, as its name suggests. , and retains the sleek, minimalist aesthetic of its predecessor.

The signature of the initiator of the project is prominently above the bridge. Shock-Out anti-vibration plugs are factory-installed, as well as a 3D grip from the same brand known to also reduce bad waves. All this definitely improves the grip of the hand.
The strap is a classic, sliding and not padded and the length of the grip is standard.

Technical specifications

This model, unlike the previous one, uses a carbon coating High Modulus Textreme 18K on the faces: a more resistant composition and 20% lighter than conventional carbon fibre.
It is the same technology that is applied in the manufacture of F1 car fairings, as well as in racing sailboats, cycling, rowing, skiing... This makes the striking surface relatively rigid and allows the player to access great speed in the offensive game, while benefiting from masterful precision in each strike.

The double tubular frame is 100% full carbon so there is no compromise between rigidity and solidity, and the core of this racket is a Black EVA High Recovery of medium hardness, a shape memory rubber with ultra fast regeneration (it returns instantly to its initial position), which helps the player to develop greater energy in slow shots, which influences vibrations, and which contributes to a more despotic and comfortable typing feeling.

It is a rounded teardrop hybrid shape pala, better controllable than a diamond shape and more powerful and precise than a round shape thanks to a balance that is still carried towards the head of the racquet. Its enlarged sweet-spot will help you on off-centering.

The weight is quite present in the north, because Sanyo is a player who likes to get the ball out in par 3 parallel, that's why he needs a predominant inertia towards the top of the pala. The glossy varnish and smooth finish induce a brash sound and provide a dry, authoritative strike while emphasizing the percussion in fast playing.

The test

On the court, it responds perfectly when defending, where one generally prefers an easy-to-maneuver racquet, but also in front of the net when one wishes to score the point with sharp volleys and an offensive aerial game.

In attack, it is a hyper dynamic pala, and above all perfectly stable. The ball springs suddenly when it enters the sieve, and it's a treat to find yourself in volley/volley because its reactivity will make you win many duels.

Being an aggressive right player, Sanyo Gutiérrez needed a pala with an immediate response and who could bring the lightning in any situation.

Ultra offensive left players, you will not be disappointed by this model which benefits from the substantial marrow that gunners looking for thrills are looking for so much; power at all levels, spontaneous reactivity allowing lightning strikes, while maintaining a certain maneuverability and undeniable playing comfort. As much to say to you that it holds the dragée high with the models “full power” of diamond shape. The latter may be slightly more powerful, but they will definitely be much less manageable.

In short, you will have understood it, it is the ultimate that I had in my hands and I literally fell in love with this pala – I am still looking today for what I could find in it as a fault.

Conclusion

Test-Siux-SG-Copper-Penso

Versatile racket with an explosive tendency, Siux was able to capitalize on the previous version and is back with an even more powerful V2.

I expected to have an ironing board in my hands and on the contrary, I was amazed by the quality of the core coupled with the brand new TexTreme 18K carbon fiber. This marriage is a total success, both in terms of typing comfort and the punch it provides.

The association with Sanyo Gutiérrez is a crowning achievement without false note, and it is clear that the developers at Siux have put all their know-how in order to (him) concoct a model with small onions.

Obviously it is a reference not to put in the hands of beginners and intermediate level players, because the rigidity is still consistent and the balance in the head pronounced.

On the other hand, the most seasoned competitors will find in this model the quintessence of what they are looking for in terms of “useful” technologies, maneuverability and responsiveness.

Captivated vibrations, an immediate grip, and a factory look for this pala with a strong character.
Thanks to Manu Garcia from French Padel Shop as well as to his faithful lieutenant Fred Richeme for sending me this model which I particularly appreciated!
