What a weekend at the French Open in padel 2018, Place du Capitole in Toulouse. Once again, the French Open has shown how unique this is for fans of padel. In terms of competition, it's a full box for the teams HEAD and the victory of Alix Collombon / Robin Haziza, in the main event of the competition.

Thousands of spectators

For 3 days, thousands of spectators were able to discover the padel, in a place dedicated to padel, but with many other activities related to the event padel.

This is our goal. On one of the most beautiful squares in the world, we offered padel with top players.

André Lafenetre, vice-president of the Open de France, tells us.

In the party, the good humor, and the competition, we were able to have the best of the padel during 3 days.

It is no longer the people who go to the padel, but the padel that goes to people. And it works. Laurent de Barbeyrac, player and manager Head on the Bordeaux side explained:

The French Open of padel succeeds in bringing together mostly uninitiated who discover the padel. And we have a lot of people, much more than in classic competitions which only bring together players or initiates padel. We must continue this momentum.

Nicolas Fauré, Chairman and CEO of Head France / Spain also gave us a very interesting interview on the Open.

Nicolas Fauré: “Head Padel, proud to participate in the French Open of padel"

Sébastien Ruiz de Conejo, the manager padel Dunlop France, hope there will be more events like this:

The brands should come together to propose other events like this one. Even half of it would be enough to accelerate the development of our sport.

Sébastien Ruiz de Conejo: "Brands should unite for events like this"

Rossignol Padel and Adidas Padel were also on the racket brands side.

Loïc Le Panse: “Adidas Padel France invests in all major events ”

Teddy Julia: “Nightingale Padel is developing in the world of padel"

HEAD PADEL wins in the competition

100% victory HEAD, at the French Open in padel 2018, since the brand succeeded in establishing itself in the 3 categories:

  • Mixed: Alix Collombon and Robin Haziza in mixed
  • In ladies: Alix Collombon and Léa Godallier
  • In gentlemen: Pierre-Etienne Morillon and Robin Haziza

More generally, we had the right to a high level with teams from all over Europe. Better, the French Open of padel also proposed teams from Senegal.

Claude Baights, President of the French Open of padel, explained to us that the objective was to offer several other events like this one starting next year:

Claude Baigts: “A large crowd for the French Open of padel "

This 12th edition will perhaps be the last for Claude. He could thus become the Vice-President and André Lafenetre, the President. The team was obviously moved for this great competition which required a lot of work. Well done to her and thank you for giving us an event like this. See you next year !
