The final stage of Greenweez FFT Padel Tour, which is currently taking place at 4Padel Strasbourg offered a few surprises before the semi-finals, particularly among the men, with the elimination of the number 2 and 4 seeds.
Among the women, the hierarchy was generally respected with the faultless runs of Dardaine / Soubrié and Ligi / Phaysouphanh. However, the number 4 and 1 seeds had a complicated quarter-final, losing a set along the way. At the top of the table, the Lefevre / Ros pair managed to beat the very dangerous Franco-Belgian team Maligo / Casalli de Lima in three sets (6/4, 2/6, 7/5). Even more unusual, Elodie Invernon and Lucile Pothier lost a set before the semi-finals. This unique association on the circuit FFT Padel Tour encountered great difficulties in winning against the 6th seed, Boura / Denecheau.
Authier / Vincent (TS2) will not do it again (editor’s note. P1500 Esprit Padel), losing this time to Theard / Pech in three sets (6/4, 3/6, 6/2). This duo had already distinguished itself by eliminating the 5th seed, Le Panse / Moura (4/6, 6/2, 6/1), in the previous round. Pech / Theard will face Cancel / Hugounenq in the semi-final, who surprised with his level of play by eliminating the 4th seed, Joris / Raichman, although on a good dynamic after his title during the last P1500 at Esprit Padel.
At the bottom of the table, the Sanchez / Rouanet duo won in three sets against Boissé / Courrin and Armagnac / Mannarino. The number 3 seed will have to pull out all the stops to create the feat: beat the number 1 seed, Maigret / Bergeron.
Coach Zorrus, commentator FFT Padel Tour, delivers his analysis:
“So it's true, outside it's rather cloudy, cold and rainy, but inside it's nice and warm! No, I'm not talking about the weather, but about padel, because the level of play of this P2000 organized by the FFT on the 4thPadel of Strasbourg is incredible! 24 female pairs entered, 32 male pairs, non-stop matches from 9am to 21pm, padel aficionados in Strasbourg will certainly not be disappointed with this weekend! The FLOPS: all the absentees! THE TOPS: the THEARD/PECH pair in the semi-final this Sunday, the performance of the local pair MUESSER/WAGNER who lost in the quarter against the BERGERON/MAIGRET pair, and the players from LA RÉUNION who bring us sunshine… and beautiful padel!!!
In short, this Saturday was placed under orange vigilance as the slopes of 4Padel of Strasbourg shook! And it's not over, because this Sunday, there will be 4 semi-finals in the morning from 9:30 a.m. and the finals from 14:30 p.m., crazy! Good night little ones and sleep well, because tomorrow’s day will put our bodies to the test!”
