At Padel Magazine, we like to become captain of the France team for the time of a World Cup or a European Championship.

We analyze the different profiles of selected players before the starting signal on Monday in Dubai for these 16th World Championships padel.

Do not hesitate to give us your opinion in comments.

For the ladies: very flexible pairs

In the ladies, we have several players capable of playing on the left as well as on the right. Robin Haziza, the coach has at his disposal a complete team.

Versatile players

Alix Collombon is our French number one. Problem: if the coach leaves it on the right for certain important matches, it risks being put in the fridge and not being used for much. Robin has certainly thought of a plan B: make her play exceptionally on the left to get a medal?

Her teammate in France, the French champion Léa Godallier also evolves to the right on the World Padel Tour. But as she plays on the left in France, Robin Haziza might want to continue using her on that side.

Charlotte Soubrié is also able to play on both sides. Initially a left-wing player, she converted to the right to partner with Élodie Invernon. After the poor performance of the French Championships, the Toulousaine will certainly be revengeful.

Lucile Pothier surprised at the French Championships. His selection may have made people talk… but it made everyone agree in Toulouse Padel Club by taking a set in the semi-finals at Godallier / Collombon with Jessica Ginier. Able to play on both sides, she brings an interesting aggressive profile.

The 100% left players

Melissa Martin had a very convincing year at the national level. Paradoxically, this may be one of her best seasons as she plays less than in the past. Semi-finalist at the French Championships, she showed great consistency in 2022.

Elodie Invernon is a powerful left player who is capable of anything. We know she is irregular, but like her partner Charlotte, she should have the knife between her teeth in the United Arab Emirates.

Two right-wing players with different profiles

Fiona Ligi is the profile that reassures. Regular and focused, it can perfectly be the centerpiece to ensure a match.

No introduction Amelie Detriviere, a right-hand player who volleys very well. She has a "tennis" profile that the players of padel old !

On the gentlemen's side: a more established hierarchy?

On the men's side, the Spaniard Pablo Ayma has his sights set on 4th place. To achieve this, he has a team that seems stronger than ever!

Benjamin Tison is the undisputed French number one, but the left-hander can count on teammates whose level is well established.

During the French Championships, it's good Bastien Blanqué who was the “MVP” of the final. The Toulousain will be expected to make the French team benefit from his new status.

Thomas Leygue showed to have adapted very well to the right side. Able to also evolve on the left, the recent Champion of France has more than one string to his bow and seems to have all the qualities to offer us a very good World Cup. If the physical does not let go, it should be one of the cornerstones of the tricolor selection.

A little less trained than in the past, Johan Bergeron appeared a little more irregular this season. Nevertheless, we can always count on his level of play and his mentality to push the team to go as far as possible. Like Thomas Leygue, the Lyonnais is capable of evolving on both sides of the track.

Jérémy Scatena is coming off a very successful season at international level. Very comfortable on high balls, he should be very comfortable in the hot conditions of the United Arab Emirates.

The one who shared the track with him in France this year, Adrien Maigret, has an interesting profile for the captain, since he is also able to play on the left, his favorite position. Always aggressive and strong on the fly, he offers, like Amélie Detrivière with the girls, a style of play that could disturb more than one.

Like always, Max Moreau is very serious in its preparation. At the top physically, he will be able to bring all his experience and his profile as an excellent defender to the team.

Jerome Inzérillo does not bat an eyelid on the right: aggressive and regular in its performance, it is capable of being grafted into many combinations.
