It is true that the licensees PADEL via the FFT do not fully represent the community Padel in France, many padelistos do not register for approved tournaments organized by the various private clubs in France.

However, the analysis of the 2017 rankings data (old formula) still gives us interesting information on the progress of the Padel in France

A sport in full swing.

It is not useful to say it, to hear it in clubs a bit like a mantra or to see reports in the TV news, to understand that there is a phenomenon Padel in French sport, it suffices to look at the progression of the number of licensees over the year: whether for women or for men, between the ranking of April and October, the number of entries increased by 60% (15% between July and October).

Pushed by the mistral

If we analyze the number of players per league (men or women), it is clear that the South-East of France is the cradle of Padel French, and the number of points accumulated in the Top 20 per league confirms that the best players come from the leagues which attract the most licensees.

But when looking for a correlation between the number of licensees and the number of average points taken by licensed, this seems less obvious, especially for the women's ranking which is still unrepresentative in the number of ranked players.

What is on the other hand a fact is that training and repetition pay because to be in the top of the ranking you have to chain tournaments.

The progression comes from the North

Nevertheless, the dynamic of progression, like winter, comes from the North. To be convinced, just look at the average number of points taken per tournament on the 2017 year,

or simply the progression dynamics (number of places won vs points per tournament) by league on the last ranking of October.
