It is often pointed out that France is behind its neighbors. Padel in Spain is hors concours and in Italy, the number of tracks is breaking all the records. In France, it is true that we tend to observe that the implementation of padel is a little more… sluggish.
However, this discipline is starting to really take hold and the number of practitioners continues to increase every year. So obviously, when we see the number of licensees and the number of players, we have the impression that there are still some areas missing.
However, Roman Taupin de Padelonomics announces this: “It's official, we have passed the 2000 padel courts mark in France.”Great news for padel since in 2017, there were only 491 tracks…

Between 2017 and 2023, the number of padel courts has therefore seen an evolution of 311% !
Now, with the wind in its sails, will padel be able to go further? The next step would be to reach 3.000 tracks in metropolitan France and overseas. Between 2022 and 2023, a little more of 500 courts were built. It would therefore be necessary double the construction this year to achieve this goal.
But projects, It's everywhere. We think of 4Padel who wants to reach 250 tracks by 2025 (for 120 in 2023). Or the project on the Island of Puteaux, which notably had dethroned Jamel Debbouze.
And you what do you think ? Could France count 3000 padel courts by the end of 2024 ? To your predictions…
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
