The Country Club Barrière de La Baule organized on Saturday April 7 the inauguration of its three new tennis courts. padel, under century-old trees, a stone's throw from the ocean.

Founded in 1928, the Barrière Country Club is an integral part of the Barrière group, a famous French group managing 32 casinos, 19 luxury hotels, and more than 150 restaurants and bars, including the famous Fouquet's on the Champs-Élysées.

The club carried out this inauguration following the development work on the tennis courts. padel, open in 2023. The three Country tracks are uncovered, but are equipped with a special carpet that perfectly absorbs humidity, and allows you to play even right after a downpour.

The event welcomed various representatives linked to the project:

  • Mr Jean-Luc Barrière, general treasurer of the FFT (with the name predestined for this inauguration).
  • Mr Franck Louvrier, mayor of La Baule.
  • Mr Patrick Guérin, President of the Pays de Loire Tennis League.
  • Ms. Sabrina Léger, vice-president of the FFT.
  • Mr Marc Mauret, director of the Barrière Country Club.

Also present, the director of the Barrière hotel center in La Baule, Laurent Garrido announced the construction of a 4th court, and that the space available around the grounds made it possible to envisage a 5th track, or even more in the future. At the same time, the Country could in the future have two courts covered to allow permanent access to the game, and in particular to tennis lessons. padel, taught by teacher Sophie Gilbert.
