Le padel is gaining more and more ground in the world, and particularly in Europe. Italy, the 2019 European men's champion, is no exception to the rule.

Our Italian colleagues from MrPadelPaddle.com teach us that the padel has experienced significant growth in Italy in recent years. Based on estimates by Carlo Ferrara, the Transalpines which had only 20 pistes in 2013, and 150 in 2015, 1228 today, distributed in 592 structures!

The city with the most land of padel is naturally Rome, the capital, which has 448. Its region, latium is also largely in the lead with 520 tracks, largely in front of Lombardy, however more populated, but which has “only” 119.

As in Spain, there is a majority of outdoor trails in Italy (77%). Figures that are reversed in the North of the country since we find 64% of interior land in Lombardy, 42% in Emilia-Romagna, and 41% in Piedmont. The difference between Rome and Milan is clearly impressive at this level since Rome has 85% outdoor tracks, and Milano 80%…of indoor tracks ! This is partly explained by the difference in climate between the two regions.

We also note that most of the structures in which the padel are multisport clubs since only 10% only offer padel. So is it easier to operate when integrating an offer padel within a more global offer that can attract a larger audience?
